Welcome to Brian Purcell’s website. Brian is a painter and poet living in Bellingen on the mid-north coast of NSW, Australia. For ten years he was the singer and lyricist for the rock band Distant Locust. Now he is working as an exhibiting painter and writer. He has twice been a finalist in the recent Bluethumb Art Prize, and is a featured painter on their site. His new book of poetry, The Leaving, has recently been published by Flying Island.
